My Story

Hello,

Welcome to ‘a streamlined mind’. Thank you for taking the time to visit.

What do you do when you have a creative itch that needs scratching?

You want to find something to do, but you suck at drawing, you can’t play any musical instruments or sing, you certainly can’t paint or sculpt anything…

You start a blog of course.

So, decision made. But now what to talk about? They say that everyone has something to say, but I was struggling to think of anything.

Then I started reading about minimalism, it spoke to me in a way that nothing else had before. Everything just clicked into place, and the world made a little bit more sense to me.

I loved the concept, but my slightly obsessive nature meant that in order to be the best at minimalism it meant getting rid of everything.

Not particularly practical.

I was drawn to the idea of not being ‘attached’ to stuff – removing the need to collect possessions to fill every bit of empty space in our lives.

From a very young age, we start collecting a lot of mental baggage, and over time this slows down our whole decision-making process. My intention with this site is to help apply the idea of minimalism to the mind. To help cut through the clutter.

Aligned to that I will focus on the following three principles:

    • Simplicity
    • Positivity
    • Motivation

‘a streamlined mind’ is my goal, and this blog is about my journey. I hope that you find something useful or interesting here.

That’s my story. I’d love to hear yours.

James
